I Have Trouble Playing Video from Flash-Powered Websites

Flash-based websites, such as YouTube, DailyMotion etc. can have difficulty playing back in a Windows Media Center machine, particularly if you don't have a lot of bandwidth available.

This is due to the fact that FLVSplitter (an open-source codec installed with Yougle Vista) and FFDShow (which must be installed for Flash playback) do not handle streaming Flash playback very well - a large portion of the video must download before the playback begins.

This is even worse on 64 bit machines, since 64 bit versions of FLVSplitter are as yet difficult to locate.

You can resolve this problem by turning on 'Embedded Playback' from the 'Settings' menu of Yougle Vista. This will play all of your Flash videos in their native form.

I can not play back videos on my XBox 360 or Other Extender

Many people think that if they can play a video on their Windows Media Center, it should be playable on their Windows Media Center Extender. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Because very few home networks are capable of dealing with the extreme bandwidth requirements that uncompressed HD video would need, the videos are sent to the extender in their compressed form. This means that unless your EXTENDER knows how to decode the video, it will not be playable.

This is why Flash videos - such as those found on YouTube - will not play back correctly on the XBox 360.

However, you could attempt to DOWNLOAD the video, and play it with a tool such as Transcode360.

Some sources should work correctly though - these include the Media Center Video Show, MSN Soapbox, Yahoo! Music and WWITV.

I see no sources in my list of downloads

The most common cause of this problem is that your Parental Controls levels are set too high. Yougle Vista currently has no childrens sources, so if you have your filter strict enough, you will see no options in the source download list.

Either disable parental controls, turn them down, or go to the 'settings' page of Yougle and turn off the Adult Source Filter.
